Slippers

Slippers
Ordinary looking
Brown
Moccasin type
Felt lining
A bit too tight.
The right size would be fine
But in their mashed way
They've become comfortable.
My worn slippers
Are in some perverse way
Like life?
I contend
With a lot
And hope for the best
But in the end
I often
Settle for less.
