Sleeps Not the Mattress

SLEEP’S NOT THE MATTRESS


Sleep’s not the mattress, hard or soft.
It’s Spring with a rose sheet.
Expels her breath - a peaceful waft.
Copper eyes and smile’s sweet.

The curtain’s drawn - it’s dark.
What lovely dreams - they’re stark.
This queen, she made her mark.

In pale of darkness—
sleep’s not the mattress.

I am finally using a pillow that works - not the foam nor an advertisement but a random one I found in a room. I am like the mama bear in Goldilocks not to mention the princess like “Princess and the Pea”. Sleeping can be tricky.
