Sleeping With Sirens

Sleeping with sirens My sweet song lured you into my bed On that dark mysterious night You were so fascinated by my seductive ways In which I caressed your face with gentle hands I was your wicked witch Your queen of the damned Such dangerous ripples went through your mind For some, I will never understand For I had mistaken you as the true king That could rule a great land Just not my kingdom For it was not your destiny You were not my prince charming Coming to save a princess of distress You found me as the dragon behind the wall Ready to burn you at the stake Like you burned through my soul Ice cold in your speech You were never apart of royalty You have no honor to bestow You are the jester Entertainment to the harlots I will not be incarcerated under lock and key This much Is true, I am liberated of the life I won't Continue With the one who played fool

The assertive woman conveyed in this poem makes me proud of all woman-kind. Well-done, Vanity. It makes me so happy that you have mastered the art of retaining your leadership role in life. I would call this "free verse" at its best. I have FAVed it, so I can read it again, many times over.
