Sleep
The sun has set; light has faded
Darkness soon, will earth be raided,
Birds have flown to their nest
While silver turns the mountain crest.
Waves that were roaring high the tide
Seems louder now, at every ride.
Eyelids heavy with day of sleep
As angels now their vigils keep.
Mortals sleep into another sunlight
Dreaming under sky’s faint moonlight.
Sleep is crawling into a world unknown
Beyond life’s pathways where we’ve grown.
Whisper of wind has silenced life
For the while, from all pain and strife.
Slumber falls while angels wake
To see us through till new dawn breaks.
