Sky Blue Disguise
The sky blue serves as a disguise.
It hides your anger at the world,
and it hides the sadness at losing the one thing you loved the most.
Loved? No, love.
It hides the fact that you feel as though you can’t ever get things right,
and it hides the fact that you feel as though you could have saved him from slipping
away if you had tried harder.
If you had meant more.
If you had made him happier.
It hides the tears that are welling up,
the tears that you desperately blink away before someone sees.
The tears that you hide with a smile.
The tears that you hide with a laugh.
You think no one sees, but I do.
I do.
