Skating

the ice grows thin on this pond where I skate I listen to the music of the blades as they scrape without a jacket...my scarf blows from the breeze night starts to settle as the moon breaks the trees from the glow of the stars like footlights on stage the intricate line of my perfect figure eight one leg behind me as I Axel then spin winded from the icy air that I'm breathing in alone on this venture--alone on the ice I'm not afraid, in fact it's quite nice solitude and retrospect that comfort my mind my soul at peace from what I leave behind
