Six Coronas and the Truth

spent my whole life running
like we sometimes do
from what I left behind
never slowing down
tryin to forget you

told myself we weren't real
it was just a dream
my heart put you away
never to be felt again
but fate comes around and then

face to face with memories of you
one corona became two
6 corona's later
and I'm telling you the truth

I almost didn't say, I do
because of that letter from you
after all these years
i know it's the last thing
you care to ever hear

so please don’t say
we'll always be friend
some things can never be
that's to keep my sanity
so today i'm going to do what I can

face to face with memories of you
one corona will turn to two
6 corona's later and
I'll still be in love with you

it's crazy to think
I left you behind
when i'm the one
who never moved on
so, i'm taking control

drowing these memories of you
with one more corona then two
but 6 corona's later.....
you know what i'll do..............
I’LL TELL YOU THE TRUTH… I’M STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU

You are so correct! Some loves are eternal! It never fails , when I think it's in my past and then ...BAM! There it is again! Thus the Corona's and a bottle of wine on occasion! I will be checking out your poems! Have a GREAT! Holiday! Laura
