Six A.M.

Six am sitting here wishing I would sleep. As the madness ever closer creeps. Reality mixed with visions of chaos Wondering when my screaming will stop. Trapped inside the depths of my mind Like a movie stuck on rewind Playing these images over and over Never allowing me time to recover Pounding the terror deep into me When dear goddess will they let me be? Leaving me the peace of eternal slumber Before my mind completely crumbles. Leaving me a shattered shell Trapped in my own living hell My world left forever cold My world left forever cold....

Sometimes just sometimes there is no ending to a poem as there is no end to inspiration.

Carolyn, I would be very interested to read the poem if you have it posted. Sara, Thanks for the comment. And the second stanza was actually the first thing I wrote upon waking. But it just did not fit there.

Feeling "trapped" as dawn is breaking is a very frightening feeling, Julie. I wrote a poem that began with "Six a.m.," too, as I was feeling like my world would be "forever cold." But that was years ago and the pain has passed. Still, there are mornings when I wish to pull the covers over my head and keep the outside world away. A very heartfelt write. Great work! Love, Carolyn
