Situations
Flattery lightens the mood
and turns black roses pink,
while hearts get carried away
when love is expressed in ink.
Sweet words when acknowledged
will make your mind blink,
but a pure soul
when duly ignored
in sadness it will sink.
Cheerful the heart would be
enduring its lovers pain,
and gloomy the mood would be
in dreams of sullen rain.
Sometimes the mind is stubborn
and unwilling to obey,
no matter how hard you try
in emptiness it will stay.
Words of love
when truly spoken
will hit you like a dart,
and newly couples
do seek romance
but don't know where to start.
Dust is rather teasey
on days when winds will blow,
and faults in rusty hearts
with time will surely show.
Being an honest person
the truth I always told,
but I only found solace
in hearts of solid gold.
Hard work and perseverance
did make my dreams come true,
but envious friends
without a doubt
would deem the facts untrue.
Plunging into an abyss
shall not resolve my day,
but flashing onto my worthy deeds
will help me find my way.
Today I may prevail
and set my own domain,
but one day I shall regret
good deeds gone in vain.
