Sitting Still In the Dark

Sitting still in the dark
can sometimes make the light feel distant,
like you can't even reach it
and your pain has left a mark.

It makes you feel like nothing can change
and everything seems impossible -
crippling you to the point of doing nothing.
But let the Light in - those thoughts will rearrange.

You'll remember that your not helpless
and you have an inner strength that can't be denied.
With the true Spirit of Light you can do anything.
The darkness will scatter and you won't feel hopeless.

Now you can move on to make your mark-
one that can't ever be erased.
You'll realize that the Light was always there
and you'll never be afraid to sit still in the dark.

Brandee - So much truth in this poem - I just loved your poem and your comment also - God Blessed my wife and I so much by bringing us together - Our love is a beautiful thing and the only part of it that hurts is the fact that so many others can't seem to find what we have and that truly breaks my heart - God Bless
