sitting among ducks

she prissily sat among ducks on a lovely Tuesday
wishing her hopes and dreams and confidence away
they did not dissuade her, did not get in her way
their unconcerned attitude kind of uplifted her on this day

ducks are wonderful she thought, I should marry a duck
her last partner had been terrible, condescending, a real f…..
the ducks swam around, not trying to impress her at all.
she felt less alone now, less sad, less sorry, less small.
