Sit On the Deck

I came to a decision in life
Did not want to see any strife
Had to get away
It was there I would stay

I stayed for quite a time
Some of this does not rhyme
But then I had returned
A valuable lesson learned

I wandered around for awhile
Saw some things that went out of style
After drinking a couple of beer
I started grinning from ear to ear

I’m as cheerful a drunk
As any young punk
So why don’t you come out here
And join me for a beer

We shall sit on the deck
And say what the heck
Then maybe go back inside
Or go for another ride
