Sisters

Sisters If you’re a woman, then you’re my sister Then I should want the best for you I should honor and support you You should do that for me too And because we both are women This brings us in a sisterhood We would revel in its blessings If only this privilege was understood Women in all lands and places Whatever their culture, tribe, or race Whatever their standing or their talents Whatever their body type or face If we are women, we are sisters And we are of a special breed Leave us out for just a moment And all comes tumbling down, indeed And the duty that we’re given Is one to cherish, and with pride We were all made to be daughters Even mothers, and many a bride We can sense each others’ emotions When one is in pain we understand It takes a woman to know a woman So therefore we should lend a hand Every woman is your sister Give each honor, don’t hold back Be a rock, be an oasis Keep jealousy and strife in check Give support, be an example Respect, correct, don’t undermine Tell them of their strengths and virtues Love them, give them space to shine Just a glimmer can do wonders In a world so dark and cold But the brilliance of all sisters See how magic will unfold!
