Single Mom

I’m a ‘tough little cookie’ when I have to be
Until this life gets the better of me
I can’t compete with the rest of you
So I’d appreciate it if ya didn’t ask me to
I’ve been holdin’ my own
And that there makes me proud
But my pat on the back
Got displaced in the crowd
I need reassurance
That I’m doing this right
Please tell me this struggle
Is well worth the fight

'In your face' the tough cookie expresses herself, and the fluidity is amazing

Hhmmm, you certainly sound like a "tough little cookie"! Very pleased to make your acquaintance, Gayle. My best regards! :) john P.s I agree -- there is nowhere quite like Scotland!

Impressed by this flowing rhythmic poem and the single mom who wrote it! I'm sure you have worked wonders considering the financial and supportive limitations which you might have had to deal with. Keep up the good work! Regards // paul

Chris summed it up nicely Gayle, we all question our purpose from time to time. Have a good day and keep smilin'.

Life is a struggle at times, but as long as we try and do our bests when doing so, it is all worth it. It may not seem like it at the time, but time has a was of sneaking by, revealing the gold at the bottom of the mud (used for soup rules) pile. Besides, if this poem is any indication, it is definitely worth it.
