Sing Me a Lullaby

Sing me a lullaby with peaceful themes
  a sleep without scary dreams
to lull me fast asleep
without tears for me to weep.
Let the soft hum push away the dark of night
and all the fears that come with morning light.
Sing me a lullaby gentle and sweet
a force so strong for death to cheat
Holding back all and any threats
and protect me from night time silhouettes.
Sing me a lullaby from the days of old
that dance me through the midnight cold.
A dance that waltzes knightly in the hours
and wakes me from any evil powers.
Sing me a lullaby to daily cope
providing chanted hymns and inner hope
conquering any difficult or fearful time
assuring everything in life will be fine
and the lullaby can easily flow
more than the child's rhyme we know.
