Whose newer memories sing a louder song Whose heart to open doors does now belong Wither alone or to the more Will know the sorrow come before Thine is cup and thine the draft All rivers poured from tears to laugh Only she with friends to bide her time Shall see herself be left to bid life’s rhyme A reach, a wink, a bridge to walk across A touch, a blink, a friend to measure loss Who then to know a word as was this woman Or ever know, as ever could, or can All gone for those who go as us before All ripples reached to touch a distant shore Now child stood apart from faded stain To measure and take note of distant rain Whose newer memories sing a louder song Whose heart to open doors does now belong
