Since You Went Away

You didn’t really say goodbye 
 I know you had your reasons why 
Yet deep inside I know you tried 
 I never should have doubted you 
 For you have given me your heart so true 
 I promise to never leave or stray 
But will wait for you till the end of my days 
So my dearest love stay safe while you are gone 
 And know I will be here for you and will go on 
 For deep inside you take with thee 
 My spirit to keep until together we can be 
 My heart is now and will always be 
 Only yours my Cherokee
