Since I Fell Away

today marks six months
since i fell away
what seemed impossible at first
only gets easier each day
loosening my grip
on the hands of my past
that refuses to hold me
so i give up at last
i've forgotten yesterday
i'm ignoring tomorrow
just holding on to the present
and letting go of the sorrow
if you asked, i'd say i wouldn't know
how i manage to sleep at night
having heard myths of all the misery
i see, now, it's not so bad, i'm alright

and now it's time for bed
blank, empty, & cold
the days of my dreaming
are now days of old

All of the past hasn't let you go. I hope you allow yourself to realize that. Great poem. Another window into your existence that I peer through often. Thank you for sharing.

Hmm, that does not sound very good dear lady!? Hello my talented and gifted poetic friend Melanie D.! Does this falling away mean, off the wagon? Or, away from the bad pllaces near the wagon? Or, from a love gone bad? If in the latter two cases, then, I would say that this is a good thing!!? If only, you can persevere and be patient!!? Then, sooner than later, the sun shall once again shine brightly upon your soul! Much Warmth To You Always, Wrapped Amid Endless Blessings, John!:)
