Simply Beautiful
If I were a rose and had to compose
A verse on how you make me feel,
I’d have to say in such a way
With an analogy of something real.
This is how it would go;
Said the blooming rose to the
Sunlight of spring,
“You warm me, therefore I glow
You nourish the soil in which I am planted,
Therefore I grow.
When I open my petals to fully
Embrace your rays, it’s because
You make me feel simply beautiful.”
Said the blooming rose to the
Rains of spring,
“When I am covered in dust from
Blowing winds, you cleanse me.
When I am dry and wilting,
You quench my thirst
Supplying me with days of moisture
And just like a scene rehearsed
I open my petals to you because
You make me feel simply beautiful.”
Said the blooming rose to its bed,
“You accepted me as I was,
And as I grew into my own
I became the true sense of
The name for which I am known.
My roots run deep because
You make me feel simply beautiful.”
Simply put, you are the sun that shines
Ever so brightly in my eyes,
You are the rain that quenches
The spirit of my soul,
You are the earth that
Keeps me grounded and whole.
With all that you do
And all I know,
Just like this rose, I will
Continue to grow because
You make me feel simply beautiful.
