Simple Peace
A wide expanse of fresh blue-gray,
A subtle shift in hue at the horizon,
Feathers of white foam line the shore,
Footprints in blonde-brown sand,
Breezes passing cool over waiting skin,
Being inhaled through nostrils
Grateful for the gift to breathe
Another moment.
Sun gently glowing – deciding not
To blaze today,
Deciding to be softly bright
And invite the gazing eye
To look upon it.
A day of quiet pleasure at the ocean,
To be framed in the mind,
Held with the senses,
And brought back when there’s a need
For Simple Peace.
