Similes

You missed creative writing class today,
but don't worry about it.  It's okay.
Similes were on today's agenda,
and I took notes which I will lend ya.

I'm happy to be of assistance.
Let me give you a "for instance".
The ocean is like the desert, friend,
Like my poems, they have no end.

Of course, the desert is a little hotter,
and the ocean has a lot more water.
Sailing makes you sick?  Okay, smartie,
riding on a camel ain't no party.

Both of these are the kinds of places
where you get lost and leave no traces.
You just want to get home for dinner.
How's that for a simile beginner?

Seeking seriousness on this page is like seeking somber in a giggle field. This is my 3rd poem comment to you today, making 3 out 3 fun poem-feedings. I need and appreciate each dose. CayCay

Aww, that's nice to hear CayCay, I like the way you put that! Watch out for giggle landmines.

Thanks Paula. I'll take the ocean too, as long as I can see if from the shore. If you put me on a boat, I'll throw up - lol!
