Similar Reflections

There it is again,
stretching, a wide toothy grin.

Parallel to an Odynophile,
forcing that heartless smile.

With knowledge it causes,
agony unseen, pain it obliges.

Each encounter sustained,
a knife wedged, an inch gained.

Perforating into the marrow,
stinging, dripping, each cut shallow.

Fragmenting the warmth within,
displayed upon a pedestal to spin.

Out of control, no finger to grip,
no longer centered, it slips.

Apathy takes it's place,
Similar reflections now etched upon a face.
