Silver Lining

The sun rose more than an hour ago But the morning is a dismal gray. Windows are fogged with a clinging mist Looks like we're in for a rainy day. The sky is overpowering the sea. Visibility is restricted. Dune fences slick from hard driving rain. Have been uprooted, torn, and twisted. I struggled to keep an upbeat mood, but my demeanor was sinking fast. When out on the choppy slate gray sea A pod of dolphins went popping past. Slick silver skin, triangular fins. Undaunted by inclement weather. They frolicked and splashed in the water. And right then, my mood got much better.
