Silhouettes

Slow death transcends the rush of tide
Still breath beneath a smoke filled sky
Pale ghosts arising from the past
Stand row by row from first to last
Like silhouettes of lifeless trees
In setting sun, no foot shall flee
But sink they into desert sand
While hate consumes the life of man

I love it. Every line is written careful and with purpose. Really haunting. Nice poem.
