Notes About The Poem

Silent Thunder

Soft, subtle whispers of conscience within
They burn, upturn, compelling doublethink
Redeem hermit, soul from possible sin

Senses five immerse us in outer din
Severing thus from God, our divine link
Soft, subtle whispers of conscience within

Child’s soul innocent, feels pricking of pin
Those who listen, glisten, whilst others sink
Redeem hermit, soul from possible sin

Presence imbibes bliss from pores of our skin
Love lotus blooms, luminescence bright pink
Soft, subtle whispers of conscience within

Nip ego desire before it begins
Heed truth hues etched in indelible ink
Redeem hermit, soul from possible sin

Divine restores light of our origin
The doing we do is mind with love sync
Soft, subtle whispers of conscience within
Redeem hermit, soul from possible sin

Oh how I loved your villanelle, Unseeking Seeker, and to write it without using the letter "a" was masterful. Best wishes in the contest.

Hahaha ... you like it bcoz you lean towards the villanelle form! Thanks! I’m happy with the way it turned out, too :)

Well composed villanelle. And I agree with the dictates of our conscience. Which seems lacking in most people these days.
