Silent Screams

It is with silence that we scream.
How can we just be so mean?
It isn’t what it really seems.
It’s much better just to speak.

I often think of long lost days;
The happy times, the merry ways.
Now, it’s just part of the haze
That makes us feel so weak.

I do not know what else to do,
To have it back or just tell you,
“Hello again, I’m here”, that’s true,
I must be such a jerk.

Time has passed, left in the dust.
Forge ahead, that we must.
To one day gain a sense of trust,
On that I’ll have to work.

So on for now, we’ll coexist,
Share a smile, not flip the wrist,
And flourish in the heavy mist;
Of common threads we share.
