Silent Night
Snuggled deep beneath my sheets,
Imaginary thoughts electrify my heart beat,
Lacy dresses that shimmer and shine,
Eight days away from work flutter through my mind,
Necklacesess and rings dipped in white gold,
Time is ticking; my patience fits a child’s mold.
Neighborhood lights twinkle through my frosted blinds,
Illuminating my bedroom walls with colorful Christmas designs,
Gradually my lids grow heavy, while I attempt one more peep,
Hoping that the dancing snowflakes outside my window the ground will decide to keep,
Telling myself tomorrow mornings will come faster if I fall asleep.
