Silent Night
Tonight we lay snuggled
And warm in our beds
While the homeless have nothing
To pillow their heads
Tonight we’re with family
Surrounding the tree
While those on our doorstep
Have nowhere to be
Tonight we will feast
And we’ll take it for granted
While the starving take gladly
Whatever they’re handed
Tonight there’s a promise
Of a happy tomorrow
But for those on the street
There is nothing but sorrow
Tonight we have fortune
And we’re hungry for more
While hardly a penny
Is spent on the poor
Tonight we sing carols
And sing them with love
But we’re missing the message
That comes from above
Tonight we give praises
To Jesus adored
While forgetting the humble
Birth of our Lord.
