Silent Night

Gentle rain falls, masking the silent night. Cutting through the air, and masking all sight. Blinded once again, a misery not new. I'm falling, falling for you. Swept off of my feet, swept into darkness. Stepped into shadow, fell into starkness. Am I to lead, am I meant to follow? A hunger I feed, a heart that won't swallow. The sounds of grace, flow through my blood. A private disgrace, an overwhelming flood. I'll lay down tonight, succumbed by light. I'm changing soon, I feel a pressure rising. A darkness enters, I'm left despising. A disappointment I'm sure, a haunting scene. A love once pure, hidden in a winter of fourteen. While I waste away, a new identity is born. I didn't try to stay, my sanity was already torn. A lives worth of expectations, a distant calmness. A sturdy foundation, crumbled beneath a promise. These waves of perfect pains, will forever remain. Looking to the skies I see, I see my bane.
