Silent Love
SILENT LOVE
by
JOHN M. ARRIBAS
I waited too long I thought you’d always be here
When we all got together I would move to be near
Its quite late now I’m afraid my dream may never come true
I had rehearsed all those feelings I had saved to tell you
I had all the words down pat and the rhythm as well
But waiting so long will make it harder to sell
There are many things I should have told you ages ago
They may not have the same impact but I really pray so
One thing is certain my feelings will remain
With rapture and solace its too painful to explain
There is a joy in my being that only you can impart
We are near the end yet never really had a start
I feel so lonely when I visit our old familiar places
Just your name and our friends have smiles on their faces
Hoping, I go every night to the café where we met
I let you slip away a foolish lapse I’ll always regret
I can’t tell you how many times my heart has bled
When I realize “ our love” exists only in my head
