Silent journey
The paper lay, untouched, unseen,
A silent note that might have been.
The soldier gone, the dawn so pale,
His story lost, a whispered tale.
The wind it sighed, the streets were bare,
A message drifted through the air.
Unclaimed, unheard, it slipped away,
A ghost of words that could not stay.
