Silence of the Lamp
SILENCE OF THE LAMP
That day the sunrise was not so beautiful
The flowers were pale without fragrance
The day was neither sunny nor rainy
No breeze and no humming of sweet songs of birds
Silence everywhere! Freezing silence!
She lay on the pink bed like a pale rose petal
Her face with a broken little smile
Bright yet like the silence of the lamp
A bolt from the blue to everyone knew her
Leaving a puzzle to all she pulled the curtain down
And rode alone to a world never to return
She was eloquently bold yet charming
The course of her life took a wrong turn with some buts
The incorrigible buts led her to an imbroglio
From which one rarely finds way out
Once written one cannot rub out and rewrite;
The story of life cautiously be written
Once we’ve mounted on the horse of life
It gallops only to forward heading fast
The rein must be safe in our hand
The traveler must control the horse; and not the horse the traveler
The distance left behind is left forever
Along the road of life we travel only once
It moves only in straight line from the first to the last breath
Everyone asked each other the stale questions
What happened to her?
Why did she do it?
She hoodwinked all with that little broken smile
Bright yet like the silence of the lamp
