Silence of the Classics

Cacophony of the front Hopes and dreams define Humanity, scenes of yesterday Never to be forgotten, from haunting Effects of childhood laughter Uncertainties that become Certainties, seldom been Well explored to be Moving remarkable Response Grace Eloquence Sparseness of writing Beautifully complements Power of emotions to be described With sights and sounds To unfold with slow Deliberate eloquence Artistic Triumph Like a heartbeat Was the deafening sound Of the Classics of yesterday... This is dedicated to our wonderful classics.. Charlotte Brontë - A writer all her life, Brontë published her first novel, Jane Eyre, in 1847 under the manly pseudonym Currer Bell. Wonderful tribute to the classics. I think you would enjoy my poem Tea Party where I imagine sitting down with the classic literary ladies.

My dearest Brooke...a beautiful tribute to our great classics. I have never read Jane Eyre (though it was a favorite of all the girls in my high school:) ). My favorites are Shakespeare, Dickens, and Edgar Allen Poe. Though I have not read either, since I started writing 30 years ago. But I know their spirit and remember the power of their immortal words. May they always be with us. Luv & Hugs;) Ben
