Silence Found
Distinguish my words from my mind
Better to sit silent inside
Because to linger on what I will say
Can destroy or create a lie
I never found the strength to reply
I grow powerless as I try
You’ll just never see who I am
I’m the part that we all deny
Chaos, mirrors, borrowed time
A static envoy with just a rhyme
You’ll just never see who I am
Try as I might, I’m just your lie
Empathy shortens our lives
Even more so to realise
That we worship a sound lost at sea
And, in our yearning, the sound has died
Searching, waving, painting skies
Dismissing every shade of night
The stars we count have turned to loss
The darkness weaved has closed our eyes
Wordless, empty, I’ve found my mind
Silence expresses the things I find
Truth is all I ever was
Better to fade than to be your lie
