Silence

Please forgive the silence
The one that keeps me self-contained
I fear without such a thing
I couldn’t keep sane
Bliss is my enemy
For I left it behind years ago
Stepped forward thousands of times
To let this overworked mind grow
I left behind comfort
Family also lost a long the way
I asked for nothing in return
Just when on going, never thought to stay
Love was killed
In shallow graves buried
It can only cause me pain
And heaved the load I have carried
So let my silence shield the world
From my bleeding mind
Let it wrap around me
So I can past the time
Let it bring me my peace
And protect people like you
Let it break the connections
And keep my heart and soul from view
