Silence

There are countless times where I've felt lonely,
Where the hours seemed to tick by every so slowly.
In these hours the littlest of sounds....I can detect,
Its in these moments I reflect.
I can hear every acorn fall unto our front porch ceiling,
And often times wonder is anyone feeling the way Im feeling.
But I am sitting here alone never the less,
                                  I am okay with this.
For it is in the silence,
That life is best.

I like the quiet, silent moments, too. Those are the times when we can hear from God most clearly. Thanks for visiting my site and reading my Lily of the Valley poem. ..Hugs, Darlene

I think you meant ceiling instead of celling. Nevertheless this is interesting work. You are O.K. with being alone. I am glad to hear that. I usually am O.K. being alone, too. Keep up your writing. I write a column for a collectibles magazine for which I actually get paid(!). I, like yourself enjoy writing verse. Peace & Love Matthew Anish
