Silence
Once upon a time your silence drove me mad.
It ate away at me, made me cry;
it drove me to distraction.
Your silence devastated me.
Once upon a time your silence turned my life upside down.
I cursed it, raged at it;
nothing mattered but the sound of your voice.
Your silence crippled me.
Once upon a time your silence reduced me to a neurotic mess.
All flaming insecurities, raging doubts;
my whole world revolved around you.
Your silence decimated me.
Once upon a time your silence dictated my every thought and action.
Not anymore, never again;
I now live my life my way, on my terms.
Your silence is a reprieve
Once upon a time your silence caused me to lose myself.
Now it's like myself, love myself;
time to work on me and my life.
Your silence is a blessing
Once upon a time your silence made me question us.
I still love you as always, only now I love me more.
I still miss your voice but only briefly.
Because now, I revel in your silence.
