Sick of Being Sick

I am so confused
I don't know what to do
I know I'm sick of being used
And mistreated too

I am sick of being looked down on
And being misunderstood
I'd change all of this if I had a chance
I mean I really would

I'd make people turn
From their narrow minded ways
And make them realize
The status quo's not always okay

I'd show them that
Different isn't necessary bad
And that change
Isn't always sad

I want to be responsible
For opening their eyes
And help them be themselves
And take away the daily disguise

Show them that they can be
Whatever they choose
As long as they are themselves
They will never lose

But before I can accomplish
All these great feats
There is something
That I must beat

My problem is
I believe in everyone and not myself
I care about the pain of others
And not my own mental health

I must believe
Deep within my heart
That I can do all
And that I am smart

I must stop
Putting myself down
While lifting up the others
That are around

I must believe
That I can
Despite what others say and think
That I can stand
