Si Sikelel' iAfrika Up above
Our friend of the world is gone
He's with the Gods above with love
His struggle carries on for peace
Free the people, war must cease
Some politicians played him down
Others supported his human cause
Just lock him away for another day
In a prison cell our hero did stay
They tortured his body in that cruel way
His spirit untouched he showed the way
Madiba we love you, you're here to stay
Your spirit is with us every day
Goodbye our friend of peace
Free the people, war must cease
We'll meet again in love
We'll sing Si Sikelel' iAfrika up above
Our friend of the people is gone
He's with the Gods above with love
