Shy Dinner Companion

Nudging up for companionship
If but through glances, timid
Is warmth enough. And from each side
Of what glares a table, mid!

Alone, by its presence, angel
Would say all we'd need to know
Of Love's hid things. And here you are;
'neath its wing! In its shadow!
