Shy Butterfly

Is enslavement better than freedom
Feeling safe instead of facing the unknown

Don't hide inside forever shy
sheltering safe in your warm cocoon
The world so big the sky so blue
lovely are the flowers in full bloom

A rainy day or a storm or two
but nothing you can't get through
It's better to try
spread your wings and fly

Don't deny your yearning inside
beautiful beautiful shy butterfly
The world has both chills and thrills
turn on the facet for an empty pail to fill

Crawl out of the shadows into the sun
fresh and new spring has sprung
A summer's dream an Autumn's wish
a winter's rest to remember and relish

For if too long you hide deep inside
That safe space of your enclosed cocoon
False the choice to your dreams denied
You bury yourself alive in a tomb

Wake up and live those dreams
break out with your heart's schemes
Be free live big, a roaring cry
My beautiful beautiful shy butterfly

Oppressed we are buried worms
With liberty
we are butterflies who soar the Heavens
