Shucking Oysters
As I diligently shucked life's oysters
Searching thoughts for a pearl in store.
Uncovering nothing significant in size
Being worthy of remembrance for.
Until one day my horizon was dark
Threating from my life a slice.
From this storm came God's divulgence
Of Jesus, the Pearl of great price.
Life is our Oyster
and we, its shucker's
How sad, so few discern the Pearl they seek.
