Both the real shroud and the metaphorical one contribute to spread a feeling of sadness. (Maybe a beloved ruler died.) Hugs // paul

Hello Dear Eve, This is an excellent short verse with some quite profound meaning. (I've kept going back 'n forth from your posted image to the four verses of your write here.) You've left some definite room here for interpretation by the reader, with your imagery, which I find to be quite intriguing. Superb!! Best Always, Gary
