Show Us Your Pretty Face

The snowdrifts gone from winter long
except for shadowed edges traced
The snow! The snow! The cold be gone!
Show us your pretty face...

Oh, fear not heady breaths of frost,
the icy teeth from sill displaced
the glare of arctic bite is lost
Show us your pretty face...

Oh, come my lovely dreamer shake
from 'neath the sleepy veils of lace
Oh, raise your crown; from slumber wake
Show us your pretty face...

I wonder is your smile on lips
of lavender and sun-sweet grace
and are your eyes like saffron tips
Show us your pretty face...

Oh, for the face of Spring I long
the crocus nestled in her place
Oh, beckoner of robin's song
show us your pretty face...
