Should Have
as long as I can remember
the rain has been coming down
heard it in a heartbeat round the corner of my mind
should have seen you coming, should have read the sign
as long as I can remember
the shadow has been long
saw it the other day, creeping 'long the shore
should have left it there, but my legs could run no more
as long as I can remember
clouds been beating down
felt you inside me, holding this heart back
should have held on longer, but I guess it's courage that I lack
as long as I can remember
the sun has always come out
fought this life to a stand still, came up standing tall
should have had faith, it's not so bad after all
