Should Doors Close

Should doors close and you stand there alone
unhinged by the deep crushing silence
of a home once occupied by love,
remember me fondly but live on.
Should doors close, and the darkness descend,
fix your eyes on the bright light of hope
which guided our path of happiness.
Hold fast the key to life, should doors close.

I like the hope the writer leaves behind to those who will miss her after she is gone. "Remember me fondly but live on" could be touching words heard in an elegy. Very moving, my friend. Congratulations on your contest win. Warm regards, John
