Shotgun 2

Silence,
Silence,
All I hear is silence

Through phones we are loud
And so we vowed
That shootings are disallowed

But in person we are quiet
In order to return balance
We need to stand up and start a riot

While the amendment states,
“The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”
This amendment dances and circles around people’s fates
You can no longer continue the wait

Gunshots fly through the air,
Ready to pierce whatever is near
And so we send our thoughts and prayers
As some pretend that they were never there

When is enough, enough?
When graveyards are stuffed and stuffed?

Now imagine, with compassion
That your child filled with passion,
Is shot and killed, would you call for action?

Now imagine, as gunshots ring
That the NRA is counting their cash, cha-ching cha-ching
While your child’s life, is hung on a string

So those who believe in keeping their gun rights, my question is this
Is your rights worth the crimes those commit?
Will you continue to allow these permits?

Or will you like the rest of us
Continue to discuss
To ensure that these crimes do not go unjust?

The choice is yours,
But don’t forget all the pain we’ve endured
To allow your gun rights to stay secured
