Short Supply

I've looked for things
and I've been a fool
it took a long time
to get to you
and what I hoped for
just won't do
it's not enough
to hold you to
I'm holding on 
but not getting through

on what planet
does the answer lie
it's written in script
and in my eyes
but you still feel
you need an alibi
truth is always
in very short supply
