Shoebox Universe

************
Below my childhood bed was a shoebox,
Its board spine is humming its lies mocks.
It held a map of purloined time,
pulled by a moth who dreamed in silver rhyme.
Night, it opened gates in the dust,
urging stars to stray in its trust.
And every dawn it closed with quiet grace—
a tiny universe in one small space.
