Shoe Box

POEM " SHOE BOX " by martin gedge The soul is for safe keeping in the light that holds yourself with the secrets that your hiding in the hole below the shelf a picture book of people of the times that you once knew your face into the distance with a cutout cardboard view with charms and golden lockets and the rings that you adore the lost of falling angels that use to rock you to the core with the words that really mattered in the scenes of yesterday are as beautiful as ever with a touch of dusty grey the eyes of rolling magic in the laughter of your tears the shaking holding steady for the ones you held for years a crush that made you blush with all that giddy up inside remember all the stories told and all the times you lied for not a minute wasted as the world was yours to live with the promise and the passion and the purest love to give the first and last of everything in the burrows of your heart and all the fun below the sun in the shadows of the dark to some they have no meaning as we all age into old while others they are treasures that are worth their weight in gold and with every ticking moment and each clicking of the key a box of life is open to unlock a memory.... by martin gedge©
